Luke: 8 Months

I have decided to start writing "letters" to Luke on this blog that I will have printed out into a book someday (hopefully).

Dear Luke,

Oh, you are growing too fast lately. It seems like just yesterday I could put you in your bouncy chair and you'd just be content to sit there all morning and smile! Now you want to get OUT and have some crawling fun! You are crawling at lightning speed now, and have been for about 3 weeks, and you are pulling yourself up whenever you can. You give me a big grin when you do. When I hold your hands you try to take little steps toward me already. Too soon! You started eating baby food regularly about a month ago, and are eating almost 3 meals a day now. We feed you oatmeal and bananas for breakfast around 9:30 a.m., and then you get veggies and other fruits for your other two meals. You make quite the face when I don't thin the oatmeal out enough!! We have fun cracking each other up during feedings and you giggle when I make silly eating faces at you. :) You have been blowing bubbles through a straw for a few weeks now, which cracks us all up.

Daddy just started his new job and you miss seeing him every day, all day. He does, too. But you have a big smile for him when he gets home around 4:30 and you guys wrestle and have fun.

You enjoy being around Grandma and Grampy very much. They love it, too. And we go visit Gramere and J.J. about once a week over in Wolcott. They just eat you up and you love seeing all of Gramere's collections. Uncle Mark gets mad when you give him the evil eye, but he gets over it. =)  You guys have fun together.

G.G. likes having you up to her house on the hill, too. She has neat things to look at in her house and you like getting in to things on her porch. :)

You are teething right now, and have 2 on the bottom and one more coming in somewhere but I can't find it yet. It makes you wake up 2 times per night, but that is okay. We know it hurts!!

You get up around 5 or 6 a.m. and I love going in to get you each morning. You always have a smile for mama and I can't wait to take you out of your crib. You talk to me saying "ba ba ba, ma ma ma". :)

Mama botched your first hair cut the other day when I tried to shorten your hair in the front. You kept moving and I made it jaggedy, so I had to keep going shorter till it was straight. We laughed, but I think you still look so cute.

Daddy and I love you so much!!!
